Barrier Multiple realities
Paul Amundarain
Paul Amundarain (Caracas, 1987) explores the urban pulse of contemporary life through a refined synthesis of geometry, repetition, and material experimentation. His practice reinterprets metropolitan textures—grids, fragments, barriers, and chromatic fields—transforming them into precise, rhythmic compositions. Moving fluidly between painting, sculpture, and textile work, Amundarain constructs visual systems that reflect on order, disruption, and the coded structures that shape modern environments.
In this work, Amundarain transforms the flat surface into a multidimensional rhythm, where painted forms and mirrored planes interact to fragment and recombine perception. The series examines the thresholds between presence and reflection, surface and void, constructing a visual architecture that is at once ordered and unpredictable. As the viewer moves, the piece evolves, revealing hidden geometries and shifting perspectives that echo the complexities of urban space and human experience. Through this dialogue of light, shape, and reflection, Amundarain invites a contemplative engagement with structure, time, and the ephemeral traces of motion.
